Fresh back from performing in the UK, we sat down with Lillian Albazi. Lillian is a multi-talented musician; a jazz vocalist, alt-indie band leader, and noise rock collaborator.
We discussed lots, furthering the title question, ‘Are vocalists musicians?’, and Lillian shares a wide range of perspectives and experiences from her life in the music scene, in Australia and abroad.
Lillian was invited to perform with her jazz outfit at the Melbourne International Jazz Festival while studying for a Bachelor of Music at Monash University. She has since established herself in the Australian music scene, playing at numerous clubs and festivals nationwide and headlining at the Melbourne Recital Centre.
Lillian also leads the Melbourne alt/indie rock band Great ~ Falls, which released their debut EP last year, and has recently joined the US noise rock/post-metal band Great Falls.
